Hagan Valley in Pahalgam is a part of an area that was ruled by the Mughals till the early 15th century. Later on, Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat ruled the valley of Sultan Said Khan of Kashgar towards the end of the 15th century and afterward the valley was reclaimed by Mughal Emperor Humayun.

Valley falls on the way to the famed pilgrimage site Amarnath temple. This valley in Pahalgam is one of the most stunning places of Pahalgam among the other two Aru and Chandanwadi.
